Celestine AI Pilot Program
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 2026 · Updated November 3, 2026
Celestine AI is a free pilot tool built to help families and single parents find benefits, programs, and local resources they may qualify for.
We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when your answers are stored, and what organizations may see.
Celestine AI is designed to avoid unnecessary personal information. Families are not required to create accounts.
1
What Information We Collect
When you use Celestine AI, we collect only the information you choose to provide during the intake process. This may include:
- Your first name
- Your email address, if you choose to receive your results by email
- Your state of residence
- Your ZIP code
- General information about your situation, such as housing status, employment status, income range, household size, and children’s ages
- Optional sensitive categories you may choose to select, such as disability or chronic health conditions, safety concerns, or military or veteran status
- Feedback you voluntarily submit about your experience using Celestine
- Your gender (Woman, Man, or Prefer not to say)
- Your answer to “What makes it harder for you to get help?” (for example, transportation, cost, or applications and paperwork)
- Optional answers you may choose to give about the kind of food or nutrition support you need, or menopause (optional, and not asked if you select Man)
- Answers about health insurance (whether you have it, and what kind) and benefits you already receive, such as SNAP, WIC, SSI or housing assistance. You can always choose “Prefer not to say.”
- Your age range (for example, 25–34), or “Prefer not to say.” We never ask for your exact age or birth date.
- Depending on the organization that shared Celestine with you, a few optional questions: who the help is for, how soon you need help, more about your housing or utility situation (for example, whether you are behind on rent, have received a notice to leave or court papers, or have a shutoff notice), and two questions about difficulty having enough food. You can skip any of them. These optional questions were added on October 26, 2026. Visits before that date were not asked them.
How optional answers are used
- Food and menopause. These answers can add resources built for your situation or move them higher in your results. They never remove anything from your results. Skipping them is always fine.
- What makes it harder to get help. This question needs an answer to continue, and you can choose more than one. It does not change your results. It helps organizations see, in aggregated form, what gets in the way of getting help.
- Gender. This question needs an answer, and “Prefer not to say” is always available. Gender is used only for aggregated demographic reporting. It is not used to match you with programs and does not affect your results. If you select Man, the optional menopause question is not shown. Gender never decides what you qualify for.
- Age range. It does not change your results, and it is never used to decide whether you qualify for a program. It is only reported to organizations as grouped counts.
- Health insurance and benefits. These answers do not change your results, and they are never used to decide whether you qualify for a program. They are only reported to organizations as grouped counts.
- Who the help is for, and how soon. You can skip both. If you say you need help today, programs that already match you and offer urgent or emergency help may move higher in your results. Nothing is ever removed from your results.
- Housing and utility questions. If you tell us you are behind on rent, have a notice to leave or court papers, or have a shutoff notice, programs that fit that situation, such as rental help, legal aid or utility assistance, may be added to your results or moved higher. Nothing is removed, and Celestine does not decide what you qualify for.
- Food questions. The two questions about difficulty having enough food do not change your results. They help organizations understand, in grouped form, how many visits report difficulty having enough food.
- Menopause. Only you can say. Celestine never works this out from your other answers, and it never removes anything from your results.
- Health conditions. The People Portal does not ask you to name an illness such as Long COVID or Lyme disease. (That question is part of a separate Celestine research tool, TOPx “Beyond the Diagnosis,” and has its own notice.) Selecting “disability or chronic health condition” only helps find programs for people with disabilities.
- Not a diagnosis, not an eligibility decision. Nothing you tell Celestine is treated as a diagnosis or medical advice. Celestine does not decide what you qualify for — each program makes its own decision.
- Where these answers go. They are stored with your intake only after you check the consent box, and they are not sent to Claude AI.
If you choose to follow up on a program. After your results, you can tell us what happened when you tried a program, for example that you couldn’t reach anyone or that you received help, and pick a short reason such as “Voicemail full.” This is optional. We save the program, what happened and the reason you picked, with your visit. We don’t save your name, contact details or anything you type. Organizations using Celestine see these answers only grouped together, and only when at least five visits report the same thing, so they can check things like a phone number or hours. If you add a reminder to your calendar, it stays on your device; its link lets you update your own answer later.
We do not collect your Social Security number, government ID, date of birth, full street address, bank account information, or financial account numbers.
2
Consent and When Your Data Is Stored
Your intake answers are only stored after you check the consent box and submit your information.
If you do not check the consent box, your intake answers are not saved to our database.
The consent box reads: “I agree that Celestine may store my answers to find relevant support and resources, improve the tool, and create aggregated, non-identifying reports.”
Aggregated, non-identifying reports combine many people’s answers. They never include your name, email, or phone number, and they never show one person’s individual answers. Individual family data is not shared with organizations.
You may withdraw consent or request deletion of your data by contacting us at the email address listed below.
3
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Match you with benefits, programs, and local resources that may fit your situation
- Show you application links and next steps
- Send your results by email, only if you provide an email address
- Improve Celestine AI based on usage patterns and feedback
- Understand common community needs in an aggregated, non-identifying way
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers.
We do not require family users to create accounts.
4
What Organizations May See
Organizations may see aggregated, non-identifying insights about community needs.
For example, an organization may see information such as:
- How many families requested food support
- Which types of needs were most common
- General demographic patterns, such as gender, when privacy thresholds are met
- Which resource categories were clicked most often
- General ZIP-code-level trends when privacy thresholds are met
- The most common things that make it harder to get help, and needs people said went without a useful resource in their feedback, when privacy thresholds are met
- How many visits reported health insurance or benefits already received, on their own and alongside needs (for example, food need together with SNAP), when privacy thresholds are met.
- How many visits came from each age range, and the needs and barriers reported most often in each age range, when privacy thresholds are met.
- How many visits said they needed help today or this week, and how many reported being behind on rent, a notice to leave or court papers, a utility shutoff notice, or difficulty having enough food, including geographic summaries only where sufficient data is available and privacy protections permit.
Organizations do not see names, email addresses, phone numbers, full individual intake records, contact IDs, or raw individual responses. Small groups may be suppressed or hidden to help protect privacy.
5
Who Has Access to Individual Data
Access to individually identifiable data is limited.
Celestine AI separates contact information, such as name and email, from intake answers where possible. Organization dashboards are designed to show aggregated, non-identifying data only.
Individually identifiable information is not displayed on organization dashboards.
6
Service Providers
Celestine AI uses trusted service providers to operate the platform. These providers process information only as needed to provide the service.
Netlify
Netlify hosts the Celestine AI website and serverless functions that help securely process requests.
Supabase
Supabase is our primary database. It stores intake information and, when provided with consent, contact information. Celestine AI uses access controls and database security settings to protect stored data.
Anthropic / Claude AI
Celestine AI uses Claude AI to help prioritize and explain verified resources based on your situation. Program names, links, phone numbers, and eligibility details come from Celestine’s verified resource database. The AI is not allowed to invent official program names, links, phone numbers, or contact information.
Your name is not sent to Claude. It stays in your browser. The personal note at the top of your results is written there, not by the AI.
Information sent to Claude may include your state, ZIP code, urgent needs, children status, employment status, housing status, income bracket, household size, military or veteran status, and optional needs you select. Celestine AI does not send your name, Social Security numbers, government IDs, bank account information, or full street addresses.
Resend
Resend is used to send your results email if you choose to receive your matched programs by email.
Resend also sends Celestine’s team an email notification when an organization submits a partner inquiry through the Navigator. The notification contains the submitted inquiry details, goes only to Celestine’s own inbox, and is used only to respond to the request.
7
Data Retention
Celestine AI pilot data may be retained for up to 12 months after the pilot period, unless a shorter retention period is required or you request deletion sooner.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing us at hello@celestine-ai.com.
We will respond to deletion requests within 30 days.
8
Data Security
Celestine AI uses reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including:
- HTTPS encryption for information sent between your browser and our systems
- Database access controls
- Separation of contact information from intake answers where possible
- Server-side functions to keep private keys out of frontend code
- Row-level security and restricted database access
- No public exposure of Supabase service role keys or API secrets in frontend code
No online system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, but we take privacy and security seriously and work to minimize unnecessary data collection.
9
AI-Generated Results
Celestine AI uses artificial intelligence to help prioritize and explain verified benefits, programs, and resources.
All official program names, URLs, phone numbers, and eligibility details come from Celestine’s verified resource database. The AI does not create official links or contact information.
Celestine AI is a guidance tool. It does not determine final eligibility, guarantee benefits, or replace official program administrators.
Always verify program details directly with the official program or organization before making decisions.
10
Cookies and Tracking
Celestine AI does not use advertising cookies or sell user data.
Our hosting and security providers may process basic technical information, such as server logs, to help operate and protect the website. This information is not used by Celestine AI to sell ads or build advertising profiles.
11
Children’s Privacy
Celestine AI is designed for adults, parents, and guardians.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
12
Your Rights
You may contact us to:
- Request a copy of the information associated with your submission
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent
- Opt out of future communications
- Ask questions about how your information is used
To make a request, email hello@celestine-ai.com.

Changes to This Policy
Celestine AI may update this privacy policy as the product develops, pilot programs change, or legal/privacy requirements evolve.
The current version will always be posted on this page with the effective date.
